Beauty lessons

  Beauty defined by Media:

My definition: That people have to make themselves more beautiful by putting makeup on and using media to make themselves beautiful.

3 things:

  • I found that people see beauty by media as being perfect.
  • I learned that beauty is how you act not about how you look.
  • Some people feel good without makeup and that they feel like they're lying when they meet someone new.

Ariana Grande uses a Snapchat filter.

 Beauty defined by Gender:

My definition:   Is your outward image and the way you look.  And that each gender is held to different standards in terms of beauty.

3 Things:
  • That beauty is the way you express yourself.
  • Girls are expected to wear makeup.
  • Guys are expected to look good and have muscles.

Beauty defined by Culture:

My definition:   Personal differences of beauty between different countries.

3 Things:
  • That people in different cultures have different aspects of beauty.
  • In Africa they paint their faces as their way of cultural beauty.
  • In India they wear jewelry and red and gold on their wedding days, along with henna art.

Beauty defined by age:

My definition:   As you get older people get less beautiful and we need to focus on personality and know them before we judge them.

3 Things:

  • "To age is to fail" is a message to older women.
  • Makeup can make you look younger rather than old.
  • Aging is wonderful and we should respect that.

Beauty defined by History:

My definition:   Throughout time beauty standards have changed more and more.

3 Things:
  • People have changed their beauty standards throughout the years.
  • Today it is mostly about looks rather than inner beauty.
  • History has changed its standards of beauty throughout time It used to be about inner beauty and now it's about outer beauty

Gender and media over lap because women and men are held to different standards. Girls have to wear makeup, while guys do not have to and only have to look good.

I've learned that their are many types of beauty and all of them have a lesson to give. But they all have different lessons within them,  like we all have beauty and we shouldn't hide that with makeup, societies standards, age, or our culture we all have inner beauty it's just hiding until you discover it.

The Beauty within us

Image result for beauty quotes       Beauty: Can't be defined by words because everyone is beautiful in their own ways and has their own inner beauty. There's more to people than what meets the eye and are not a copy of everyone else, but are their own kind of beauty and themselves.

" I look at myself close up in the mirror and try to find some good things"
" I may have Bugs Bunny teeth, but they are mine, and if I put on a few pounds, they might even look right on my face, which at least is my real face, and not painted on."

I never have felt more humiliated in my life, because people think that I'm just pretty and dumb with my blonde hair. The next day at Lakeside high school people judge you on your beauty not your smarts. " I'm tired of people thinking that I'm stupid just because I am have blonde hair and pretty." I told my best friend Ava. " You're over exaggerating people do that to everyone especially the pretty girl Aubrey." She told me while she was doing her make up. I don't see why people think I'm pretty, for one I'm to tall and skinny. After that day I went home to my neighborhood in Augusta which is like five minutes away from the school. Outside are these poplar boys that always comment on how beautiful I am.

" Because she is like a fish, she can't remember anything." Alex says. I couldn't believe he said that so I ran to my car and left with Ava following me.  She came to house and with surprise my sister was their and she never asks what's wrong with me. Ava comes up to my room and tells me to show them that I am actually smart and that's more to me than my looks. So the next day, I showed them that I wasn't just pretty and that actually smart. No ever made fun of me or other people for what's on the outside, but what's inside of them. From there on I saw what was inside of people than what's on the outside and eventually so did everyone else. There is more to people than whats on the outside, we just look and see them for what they really are on the inside.
